Westflux Participates in NMDPRA Permits & Consents Workshop
Westflux joined NMDPRA in Abuja for a two-day Permits & Consents Workshop—building a compliance roadmap for the Delta LNG project, clarifying licensing, and shaping dialogue on LNG barging and regulatory partnership.
Strengthening Regulatory Alignment
Westflux Integrated Services Limited recently participated in an essential two-day Permits & Consents Workshop organised by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in Abuja on 7–8 July 2025.
The workshop represented a significant milestone for the Westflux LNG Project, aiming to enhance regulatory clarity and expedite the permitting process for Nigeria's midstream and downstream energy projects. In collaboration with NMDPRA officials, our team examined the entire permit lifecycle, from concept to decommissioning, identifying the necessary documentation, regulatory timelines, and compliance benchmarks for LNG infrastructure development.
Key highlights from the workshop include:
- Development of a Permits & Consents Register: A project-specific register was jointly reviewed and created to map all required regulatory approvals and consents. This register will serve as a visual roadmap and compliance tracker throughout the lifecycle of the Westflux Delta LNG project.
- Clarification on Licensing Requirements: Detailed discussions clarified the scope of our existing License to Establish (LTE) and outlined processes for future modifications, especially as we explore potential expansions, including additional project phases and supporting infrastructure.
- Groundbreaking Insights on LNG Barging: As Westflux pioneers the inland waterway distribution of LNG in Nigeria, NMDPRA recognised our initiative and indicated that Westflux could influence future regulatory pathways for this innovative distribution model.
- Commitment to Regulatory Collaboration: The sessions reinforced our shared commitment with NMDPRA to foster transparency, improve turnaround times, and ensure regulatory excellence.

Conclusion
This engagement highlights Westflux's dedication to advancing Nigeria's gas infrastructure responsibly, efficiently, and in complete alignment with national regulatory frameworks.
We extend our sincere appreciation to NMDPRA for their support and partnership. We look forward to continued collaboration as we progress toward successfully executing the Westflux LNG Project.
